KAPOWW Kids Advocating Protection of Our Waters and Wells

Deer Story

  Deer Story

A lone deer wanders in the woods. He is hungry and has been abandoned by his family because a car injured him. The local residents of Sharon call him Bambi and are concerned about his safety, for he is not only hungry and alone, but he also has a mental illness and comes up to people in an attempt to play. If the Brickstone development is approved, Bambi will be seriously hurt. The woods are Bambi’s home, and with all the machinery and people destroying it, he will have no place left to go. The tools used while Brickstone is being built will harm Bambi as he tries to explore what is happening to his habitat. He will drink the water that is contaminated due to medicine in it. Deer like Bambi will not know to stay away from the construction workers as they build the Brickstone development. With all the extra traffic from the cars of residents of Brickstone, to tractor-trailers the builders will haul materials in, there’s a much better chance that he will be hit by a vehicle and be injured or killed. This is his habitat, his home, and he doesn’t understand why he can’t jump out at cars. Brickstone will destroy Bambi’s home, contaminate his water, and increase the chance of him being injured. It is wrong to harm wildlife in this way and so the KAPOWW organization is working hard to stop Brickstone, but we need your support. Please join the KAPOWW group today.
